Friday 3rd January – ski **** Les Arcs/Peisey Vallandry

Although it wasn’t looking brilliant we bought our four hour lift pass and went up on the slopes. It was snowing quite hard all the way across to Peisey Vallandry but once we had had a couple of runs it stopped snowing and started to clear out a bit. Lee didn’t come out today as he is still poorly and the others went back to the Les Arcs slopes once they had had one run down. We stayed over there and the red run, which leads to our favourite lunch spot, which is normally more like a black, had been pisted and was brilliant :) Had to clear the snow off the table to eat our lunch but it had cleared up well so although not as good as the other sunny days was still beautiful Back up to the 66 lift and then back over to Les Arcs 1600 for the end of our session. We were a little early so went up the Mont Blanc lift and had a great run down the blue piste with the same name. We decided to ski down to the mid way station of the funicular and were pleasantly surprised by the lovely blue path but once it turned into piste it was a bit rough with grass growing through! We walked up to the station and the first train down didn’t stop so we decided to get on the next one which stopped on the way up, meaning we would be travelling up to come down, just in case it didn’t stop again! Although it was a lot of hanging around it proved to be the right decision because it didn’t stop at the mid way station! Back to the van and a quick visit to the supermarket before heading back to the flat for a cuppa. Went for a swim and a hamam. We packed up our stuff ready for leaving the apartment tomorrow and did this for a while before cooking carbonara for tea.
